John Barrett suffered huge burns and was treated using sprayed skin
cells cultured at the Blond McIndoe Research Foundation.
Over 90% of John’s body was severely burned leaving little remaining
tissue to use for skin grafts. A small piece of skin was taken from
one of his legs which remained unaffected. Skin cells were cultured
from this skin and sprayed onto the burn wounds. These healed faster
than would have been expected using conventional treatments.
Mr Barrett was released from hospital over two years ago, and has since
undertaken a parachute jump to raise funds for the Blond McIndoe Research
Foundation.
The Foundation relies entirely on charitable giving
to continue its life-changing work. Contribute
